CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 14, 2021) – Bojangles Entertainment Complex (BOplex) is welcoming guests back to its historic venues with more than 75 ticketed performances between now and the first of the year. The fall line-up offers something for everyone and includes legendary Broadway hits like Wicked presented in partnership with Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, top comedians such as Chelsea Handler, musical guests including Frankie Valli, live televised events like All Elite Wrestling, family-friendly shows like MasterChef Live! and much more.
The BOplex guest experience is better than ever following a $20 million construction project that officially unified the two venues as one complex. The upgrades include a pedestrian connection between Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium with an additional entrance to each venue, new concession options, additional public restrooms, all new seats at Ovens Auditorium, additional hospitality space and a new patio outside the connector facility. Included in the patio space is a new art installation, which references the iconic dome of the Coliseum and pays homage to the venues' storied 65-year history, featuring the names of the many events and performers who have graced its stages over the years.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the BOplex became a Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s (GBAC) Star™ Facility, which ensures the facility is implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection of infectious agents. The GBAC Star™ designation complements the organization’s existing initiatives to prepare for the return of guests to the BOplex. Face coverings are no longer required per CDC guidelines, but are still strongly recommended for large indoor events.
