WHAT
Since 1955, guests have been entertained at the East Charlotte auditorium-coliseum complex, known today as Ovens Auditorium and Bojangles' Coliseum. Hosting nearly 19,000 events collectively and welcoming millions of visitors from near and far, these historic venues have a special place in the city's history. This "turning of the dirt" event will celebrate the exciting future of these venues as the project to adjoin the buildings with a connector facility kicks off. A special photo opportunity and one-on-one media availability will take place following remarks.
