A Mother’s Day Celebration Starring Charlie Wilson & Johnny Gill Coming to Bojangles’ Coliseum May 14

(March 1, 2017) – Bojangles’ Coliseum will host Charlie Wilson & Johnny Gill on Sunday, May 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, March 1 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets are $59 to $125 (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change.

Celebrate Mother's Day Weekend with Charlie Wilson, 11-time Grammy nominee and co-founder of the iconic funk trio the Gap Band, and Johnny Gill, four-time Grammy nominee whose unmistakable style has altered the sound of R&B music for over three decades.

Wilson released his sixth solo album, "Forever Charlie", in 2015. The single “Goodnight Kisses” from the "Forever Charlie" album locked in yet another top ten hit single for Wilson. In 2013 Wilson won the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, which included performances by Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Stevie Wonder Jamie Foxx. In addition to his Grammy-nominated collaborations with artists such as Kanya West, Wilson has been a much sought after mentor with numerous top singer/songwriter/producers who he considers his “nephews,” including Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg and Jamie Foxx.

Gill, who was once the lead singer of the popular boy band New Edition, released a hit solo album, "Johnny Gill", in 1990. Johnny’s new album, "Game Changer", was released in 2014 on his label, J Skillz Records in partnership with Caroline Music/Capitol Records. "Game Changer" features songs produced by Grammy Award-winners Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Tony Dixon, Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly and Vidal Davis. The first single, “Behind Closed Doors,” peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Urban Adult Contemporary charts. Gill recently released his fourth single from the "Game Changer" album entitled “5000 Miles” featuring Jaheim.
