Arena football team Carolina Energy to play 2018 season at Bojangles’ Coliseum

Schedule and tickets for Carolina Energy games available now

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 8, 2018) – Professional arena football team Carolina Energy will kick off its inaugural season at historic Bojangles’ Coliseum on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 6 p.m. Individual home game tickets and season tickets are available now and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets start at $10 for groups of 10 or more, and individual tickets range from $12 to $27 (plus applicable service charges). Season tickets, group rates, birthday packages and VIP seating are also available.

Carolina Energy is a new professional arena football team offering an affordable, quality and family-friendly entertainment option for sports enthusiasts and the Charlotte community. The team is part of the American Arena League (AAL), which formed as the result of a recent merger between two previous leagues—Arena Pro Football and the Can-Am Indoor Football League.

“Carolina Energy is excited to become a part of the community and bring a different kind of sports entertainment to the Queen City,” said head coach Ervin Bryson. “Through our community engagement efforts and by offering an experience unlike any other sporting event, we look forward to creating new arena football fans—from families to young professionals and college students.”

Unlike the NFL, professional arena football is played indoors on a 50-yard turf field, resulting in a fast-paced, high-scoring game similar to basketball. Each sideline is composed of heavily padded walls that mark out of bounds. There are only eight players per team on the playing field at a time instead of 11, and the arena football team has a 21-man roster.

From the pregame show to the after-party, Carolina Energy will offer adrenaline-pumping entertainment, merchandise and gear, and even a post-game meet-and-greet with the players, coaches and staff. There will be tailgating, food trucks, bouncy houses and a DJ outside before the games. This family-friendly sporting event is a must-see this season.
